Kevin A. Triemstra, CEO and Chairman of Board
Kevin Triemstra is Founder and CEO of the Minneapolis Biomass Exchange.
The Minneapolis Biomass Exchange's mission is to help facilitate transactions
between biomass buyers and sellers in an online marketplace, maximizing
economic return and minimizing environmental footprint.
Previously, Kevin spent several years consulting for Golder Associates,
commodities broker North Star Rail Intermodal, and several private
contracts with agribusiness companies and cooperatives. His project
experience includes biomass pellet supply chain logistics (U.S. and Europe),
financial projections, feasibility studies, and environmental credit
valuation. Prior to that, Kevin was a software engineer in Colorado for
5 years for Raindance Communications, a "dot com" web conferencing start-up
that eventually was acquired by West Corporation out of Omaha, Nebraska.
Kevin received his BSE in computer engineering from the University
of Michigan and MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the
University of Minnesota.
Doug C. Cameron, Managing Director of Alberti Advisors
Doug Cameron is Founder and Managing Director of Alberti Advisors, a
venture advisory firm with business, science and
engineering expertise in clean technology and sustainable agriculture.
Prior to founding Alberti Advisors, Doug was Chief Science Advisor and
Managing Director in the cleantech investment banking group at Piper
Jaffray, a global investment bank headquartered in Minneapolis.
From 2006-2008, Doug was chief scientific officer at
Khosla Ventures, a premier Silicon Valley-based cleantech venture capital
firm. With Khosla, Doug led technical due diligence
for many of the firm's investments and served on the board of directors
for Mascoma, Lanzatech, Kior and Draths. Doug was appointed acting
CEO for Gevo, LS9 and Segetis, in addition to serving on those boards
as well. From 1998-2006, Doug worked at Cargill, Inc. where he built and
led Cargill's corporate biotechnology research group. While at Cargill,
Doug interacted closely with NatureWorks, Cargill's bioplastics joint
venture, helping to form an industrial bio-products business unit.
From 1986-2000, Doug was a professor of chemical engineering at the
University of Wisconsin, Madison. While at Wisconsin, he consulted for
several leading companies, including Cargill, DuPont and Genencor.
In 2009, Doug was the recipient of the prestigious Raphael
Katzen Award for his contributions in furthering the deployment and
commercialization of biotechnology to produce fuels and chemicals from
renewable resources.
Doug graduated magna cum laude from Duke University with a BSE in
biomedical engineering and earned a
PhD in biochemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology.
Rajesh K. Aggarwal
Rajesh Aggarwal is currently the US Bancorp Professor in Financial
Markets and Institutions at the Carlson School of Management at the
University of Minnesota. Rajesh's current research interests
cover all aspects of corporate finance including corporate governance,
optimal capital structure, initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions,
executive compensation, performance evaluation, boards of directors,
the economics of organizations, bankruptcy, and fraud and stock
market manipulation. His research has been published in top finance,
economics, and law journals, such as the Journal of Political Economy,
the Journal of Finance, and the Journal of Financial Economics.
Rajesh previously served as associate professor at
the University of Virginia, University of Michigan, Oxford University, and
Dartmouth College.
Rajesh has received the MBA Elective Lecturer of the Year award from the Said
Business School at Oxford University, and twice been named Most Outstanding
Full-time MBA Elective Faculty Member at the Carlson School. Other recent
honors include the Progress Investment Management Company Best Research Prize
for his work on emerging hedge fund managers, the China International
Conference in Finance Best Paper Award, the Financial Research Association
Best Discussant Award, and the Review of Financial Studies Distinguished
Referee Award. Rajesh also serves on the Board of
Directors of Medica Health Plans and as a consultant to Pacific Alternative
Asset Management Company.
Rajesh received his BA in Economics from Yale University and his PhD in
Business Economics (Finance) from Harvard University.
