FarmEnergy.org Reveals New Energy-Friendly Agricultural Budget

There’s a good summary at farmenergy.org that discusses Obama’s agricultural budget proposal for full year 2012.  To sum up:

- Small increase to the Rural Energy of America Program (REAP) to $106.8 million.

- Biomass Crop Assistance Program (BCAP) funding at $198 million with continued focus on transport and establishment of energy crops.

- $6 billion in low-interest Rural Utilities Services Loans with greater emphasis on clean energy projects.

Let your Senators and Representatives know your opinion on the 2012 budget as this could affect funding for these programs.  The current budget resolution for 2011 which is a continuation of 2010 levels expires March 4th, so expect some adjustment for 2011 as well!
